The photograph, the source, and the unknowns
The record files him as a tennis player and banker who survived the Titanic. The archive kept his name because he was already famous, which is the quietest unfairness on this wall. The Library dates the photograph only to about 1915 to 1920, so the plaque does not pretend to a year.
