The photograph, the source, and the unknowns
Four men stand in this frame and the archive names one. His name is written across the plate in the same hand that wrote the children's question mark. ⚠️ The Library files this as "1912 April 13 [?]" — its own uncertainty, and two days before the ship sank, so the plaque carries the year alone.
